Age of Severance
The Age of Severance begun when Lastiy, an Endorien corsair gone rogue, attacked with the aid of xxNekoQueen, the first Endorien traitor. Halo was killed in the process, Balerion the Black Dread, capital ship of the Empire stolen and Agentus Endorin named Emperor.
Many more loyal members, seeing the new Endorien leadership as lacking, fled their positions, flocking to the banners of Ryuuichi.
The defector tribe of Aurelia was this way created, estabilishing itself as a powerful guild in the following times.
After his death during Lastiy's betrayal and after the downfall of the Empire, Halo got resurrected by Agentus Endorin and The Goat God in an unholy ritual, only to find the Endorien Empire tore apart by its very own members.
Aurelians settled in a far away island, apparently minding their business but in fact lingering in Endorien lands, while the Endorien kept Volantis, worried about the hostile force growing around the Capital.
Balerion was successfully stolen back by Halo, who made it its personal ship, the Endorien Fleet being no more after it was seized by Lastiy.
A tax was issued on Aurelia by Endoria in order to hold the former accountable for the intellectual/technological theft and socioeconomical disaster caused by the defectors, and conflict broke out when Aurelian corsairs were spotted on the shores of Endorien colonies, officially marking the beginning of Aurelian invasion of the Southrons Sea.
Conflict terminated when Halo realised the Kaiser of Aurelia could have been suitable for joint rulership of a reunited Endorien-Aurelian Empire. The community still had a chance to stick back together, and diplomatic action led to a treaty aiming at integrating the nations under the original banner once again.
The treaty officially stated:
- Halo would resign from its position as leader of the Empire. - All claims belonging to Halo would be passed over to Aurelian council. - The Endorien Fleet would pass over to Aurelian council. - Players adapting to the merge would be allowed private property on former Endorien lands
... and other points we'll try and get here once the original text is recovered.
The treaty was gradually put into place. Aurelians gave hints of their real intentions right away, by storming Volantis with armed forces, trying to quicken up the treaty enforcement with threats and violence.
Halo made sure no treaty point could be broken, securing the private properties of his close friends in a safe spot and moving away on Balerion to Eclipse Island, where he would wait for tensions to ease and integration to complete. Aurelia however grew suspicious of Halo's intentions.
The Aurelian Council, after receiving the Endorien Fleet, the Endorien Capital of Volantis and promises of non-belligerance, banished all Endorien refugees.
Endoriens grouped into a newly founded Trade Company - ETC (Endorien Trading Company), finally vowing to quit all geopolitical aims and interests. Valyrian investments soon guaranteed a profitable Amberieux - Aeo's trade route, and many offers were sent to all guilds in order to attract investors.
In 504 EE, missent global chat messages allowed Aurelian intelligence to gain insights into ETC trading routes. Aurelians were quick in organizing a raid on the Endorien route, attacking civilian members of a neutral guild. The Aurelian Kaiser itself, along with some henchmen, attempted boarding a commercial vessel carrying tons of Saffron on behalf of IATC (Italian Austrian Trading Company), Valyrian's trading powerhouse. Captain Halo however, spotting in great advance the hostile movements, landed the ship and put most of the load to safety, burying it under the nearby desert.
Aurelians shot to kill, without warning, but at first failed at retrieving any bit of the riches. They then left, and pushed Halo back out into the open: captain MionaTheGreat fought and killed Aurelians boarding the ship, but was soon overwhelmed by enemy numbers. Aurelians successfully seized part of the load, and secured it at Volantis dockyards.
In response, Halo quickly organized an assault on Volantis, which was won by the Endorien and left both the Aurelian Kaiser and his bodyguard dead on the ground.
Soon after, IATC intervention convinced the Aurelians to let go of the cargo, which was quickly returned to the Endorien Trading Company.
The Age of Severance ended with the withrawal of ETC from the Southrons Sea, the banishment of Halo into the dark deep caves of Eclipse Island and the departure of Captain Miona and all the remaining Endorien riches towards terrae incognitae.
