Iron Hold
Iron Hold is a major faction in the world of CorsairCraft. It was formed by the former members of the British military who were a part of the initial exploratory crew that came through the portal in 1706. They adhere strictly to old Earth customs, laws, and military discipline. Today, Iron Hold controls a large portion of territory and has steered into ruthless political manipulations to maintain its power.
History
Iron Hold was established in 1707 by Sir Oswald Thornfield, a military veteran of the British Empire. After the portal to Earth disappeared in 1710, the settlers quickly lost their original allegiances and new factions formed. Iron Hold was one of these factions, and it has since grown into a powerful entity.
Society
Iron Hold is a strictly hierarchical society with a strong emphasis on discipline and order. It is governed by a council of high-ranking officials, led by the current head, Lady Amelia Stratton. The society is heavily militarized, with a strong focus on technological advancements, particularly those that combine magic and technology.
