Iron Hold is a major faction in the world of CorsairCraft. It was formed by the former members of the British military who were a part of the initial exploratory crew that came through the portal in 1706. They adhere strictly to old Earth customs, laws, and military discipline. Today, Iron Hold controls a large portion of territory and has steered into ruthless political manipulations to maintain its power.

History
Iron Hold was established in 1707 by Sir Oswald Thornfield, a military veteran of the British Empire. After the portal to Earth disappeared in 1710, the settlers quickly lost their original allegiances and new factions formed. Iron Hold was one of these factions, and it has since grown into a powerful entity.

Society
Iron Hold is a strictly hierarchical society with a strong emphasis on discipline and order. It is governed by a council of high-ranking officials, led by the current head, Lady Amelia Stratton. The society is heavily militarized, with a strong focus on technological advancements, particularly those that combine magic and technology.

KonradRoar:

In 1706, an age where the British Empire was expanding its grasp across the globe, an unprecedented phenomenon occurred. An enormous portal appeared mysteriously in the ocean near the Americas. Sensing an opportunity to explore fresh territories brimming with potential, the Empire redirected massive resources towards this anomaly.

The portal led to a new world, an uncharted realm full of magic and wonder, a stark contrast to their terrestrial homeland. News of this new world spread across the Empire, drawing not only explorers and soldiers but also the lawless elements seeking escape - the pirates. However, a mere five years after the portal's appearance, it disappeared as suddenly as it had arrived, severing the connection to Earth forever.

Isolated from their original home, the settlers began to shape their new world. Taking a leaf from Earth's history, the settlers quickly formed factions. The former members of British military, who formed the backbone of the initial exploratory crew, established the Iron Hold - a faction upholding the disciplined laws and customs of the Earth. The pirates, ever seeking a life outside the law, began the Wavebreakers, a faction throwing old world rules to the wind. The settlers who chose peaceful coexistence with the indigenous populace established the Emerald Enclave. Lastly, a power-hungry faction emerged, consisting mainly of merchants and ex-slaves, known as the Scarlet Consortium, creating intricate networks of spies and trade alliances.

Life in this new realm dramatically diverged from Earth, as civilizations began integrating magic with daily life. Technological advancements, spurred by easily accessible magical artifacts and creatures, opened an era of prosperity unseen on Earth. Airships, powered by an artful combination of science and sorcery, graced the skies. Enchanted armor and weaponry became as common as traditional garments. However, this prosperity did not cure the sinful ways of humankind. The indigenous population of villagers, found themselves subjugated into slave labor.

Attempts to reconnect with Earth led to the discovery of inter-dimensional portals within the new world itself. These portals, unlike the original portal, were prone to instability, leading to different realms and dimensions each time. Knowledge about the paths these portals led to became incredibly valuable, given the risk of stranding travelers in dangerous dimensions. Similarly, portals that appeared in many locations around Earth, unbeknownst to the British Empire, also linked to their distinct dimensions.

The world saw the rise and fall of powers, wars erupting over resources and control, alliances formed and broken, and civilizations expanding into unknown territories. The unique history of each faction shaped the world, from the ironclad discipline of the Iron Hold, the free spirit of the Wavebreakers, the harmonious balance of the Emerald Enclave, to the ambitious trade networks of the Scarlet Consortium.

There remained a ray of hope in the new world, built upon resilience and replete with the magic inherent in the realms - the colorful city of Amberiux. This city, formed from various shades of clay, lay as a testament to neutrality and peaceful coexistence amidst the turmoil of factional disputes.

As the generations progressed, the settlers from Earth gradually become inhabitants of their new world, crafting their distinct narrative, a saga of resilience and adaptation in the face of uncertainty. The story of this strange world continues to unfold - a testament to human spirit and its endless voyage into the unknown.

Claim
Claims can be created by placing down a protection beacon item.

The recipe is

GGG G = Glass
GDG D = Diamond
OOO O = Obsidian

Experience bottles can be obtained by using a glass bottle against
an enchanting table.

Each protection beacon consumes energy as it is working. Current energy level
can be either found by running /pb or by opening the protection beacon GUI
by right-clicking on it.

By default only trusted people on the claim can break or place blocks on the
claim. There is an option to increase the level of protection by toggling
protection flags:

* No interaction - no buttons or levers
* No grief - no building or breaking blocks
* No mobs - no natural mob spawn
* No PvP - no PvP (extremely expensive)
* No explosions - no explosions (extremely expensive)

Each trusted player has fine-grained permissions as well.

Unless the "No explosion damage" flag is toggled, any block on a claim can
be destroyed with a Breaching Charge. Water, Lava, or Obsidian do not protect from a Breaching Charge.

Breaching Charge recipe:

IGI I = Iron Block
GDG G = Gunpowder
IGI D = Diamond Block

Claim Details
1. Claims are used to protect builds/chests/items.

2. Place a protection beacon (pb) down and click it to access the claim beacon interface.

3. You will see four options: Permissions, Energy, Tools, Protection

* The first option is Protection (playerhead). It controls what permissions will be allowed on the claim.

* The second option is Energy (magma cream). It is for controlling how much power your claim has remaining. Click the magma to place energy in the beacon and power the claim. Place ore (diamonds, gold, coal, etc) in the magma’s inventory to add power. You can hover over the magma to see the stats of your claim.

* The third option is the Tools section. Here, you select which tool you need (claim shovel, subclaim shovel) by crafting a golden shovel and clicking the respective tool.

* The fourth option is the Protection (shield) icon. This is similar to the first option (permissions), except that it focuses on Protection aspects, such as no mob spawning, no PvP, grief prevention, etc. If a permission is
ON, aka currently active and protecting the beacon, it will be labeled enabled. If it is not on, it will be labeled disabled.
Example: if PvP Protection is labeled "Disabled", then PvP is **allowed** in the claim.

4. You can expand a claim in two ways:

* Stand within the claim (on top of the beacon if you have not expanded it at all) and type /pb resize (#) facing the direction you want to expand. To retract the claim size, do /pb resize (-#).
Example: /pb resize 10; /pb resize -10

* Another option is using a claim shovel. Craft a golden shovel, then enter the protection beacon interface. Click on Tools (golden shovel in the interface) and then click on “Claim shovel”. It will change your shovel into a
claim shovel. Then, use the claim shovel to click the corners of your intended claim area.

5. You must keep your beacon powered with ore in order to keep the area claimed. The larger the claim gets, the more it will take to power it; however, once you reach 40 days, the overall daily consumption goes down.

6. To check claim stats, stand within the claim and do /pb

7. To add players to your claim, do /pb trust (name)

8. To fulltrust players to your claim (give them admin of the claim), do /pb fulltrust (name)

Subclaims
* Subclaims are smaller claims within a larger claim, used to separate buildings/locations. If you have one central claim for a city, for example, and want the people in your Guild to have access to only certain buildings, you can subclaim the buildings you want them to have access to and give them specific permission to said buildings.

1. You first need a subclaim shovel. Craft a golden shovel and then open the protection beacon interface. Navigate to the golden shovel option, "Tools", and click on Template: Subdivision Tool. This will change your golden shovel into a subdivision shovel.

2. Holding the shovel, type /pb subclaim create (name). This will create a subclaim for you to edit.
Example: /pb subclaim create House

3. Still holding the shovel, go to the location you want to subclaim. Type /pb subclaim manage (name).
Example: /pb subclaim manage House

4. After you have run the command, continue holding the shovel and press "F" to cycle through the options for subclaiming. The options are as follows:
* Mode: Add blocks by walking.
* Mode: Remove blocks by walking.
* Mode: Add cuboid by right-clicking.
* Mode: Remove cuboid by right-clicking.
* Mode: Disabled.

5. After choosing your mode, claim the building based on the mode; if you chose walking, walk around the building. If you chose by cuboid, you must click one corner of the building and then the adjacent corner.
* Note: If you choose subclaim by cuboid, you must do this in a 3D manner; for example: if you click the ground-level corner of a house, you must then click the adjacent corner at the max height of the house in order to have the subclaim cover the entirety of the build rather than simply ground level.

6. Once you have chosen your subclaim size, type /pb subclaim commit.

7. To trust others to the claim, run the command /pb subclaim trust (name of claim) (name of player).
Example: /pb subclaim trust House CreatingWithKass

8. To see a list of all your subclaims, do /pb subclaim list.

9. To add specific permissions to a subclaim, do /pb subclaim permission (subclaim name) (player you want to give permissions to) (permission)
Example: /pb subclaim permission House Sir_Puss build

10. To remove a subclaim, do /pb subclaim remove (subclaim name).
Example: /pb subclaim remove House

The staff team reserves the right to judge each case individually and punish or forgive at their discretion. Rules can change at any time. These rules apply to all areas including Discord (where applicable).

Be nice
Be nice to fellow server members, excessive toxicity will not be tolerated. Remember that we are all playing a video game. Do not make references to controversial and/or political real-life events. Do not act excessively rude towards anyone, make fun of anyone's real-life characteristics, or stalk anyone. Keep the public chat kids friendly, they occasionally play here as well. Do not weaponize identity politics. Don't spam.

Don't hack
There is no appeal process if you get banned for hacking. It doesn't matter how long you have played on the server. Don't use hacks, bots, or glitches and mods that give you unfair advantage over other players. Do not create machines specifically designed to lag the server. Report any fellow guild members for hacking as anyone found to indirectly benefit from hacking will face repercussions (asset seizures and bans if it was done knowingly).

Don't exploit the game mechanics
Use your common sense, if something seems like it shouldn't be allowed it most likely isn't! Do not abuse the teleportation system for offensive purposes with the exception of teleportation scrolls. Do not abuse the ship system to steal parts of claims by merging and re-piloting. Do not abuse the ship system to trigger redstone devices on claims. Do not repeatedly spawn kill.

Year 1706
In the year 1706, the British Empire's fleet has discovered a strange phenomenon - an enormous portal to a strange new world opened in the ocean near the Americas. The British Empire diverted enormous resources to explore the newly discovered territories.

Soon new settlers poured through the portal. The portal disappeared five years later cutting the settlers off. It would never reappear again.

Many people commonly assume that the Age of Pirates ended as a result of the British Empire hunting down the pirates but it is more likely the real reason was that the pirates just escaped through the portal.

Year 1798 - now
Generations have passed since the portals closed down. New technological developments spurred by the easy access to magical artifacts and creatures resulted in an age of prosperity. Airships powered by both science and magic soar the skies, magically enchanted armor and weaponry are as common as conventional attire.

The prosperity did not cure the mankind of its sinful ways, however. Indigenous population of humans who likely travelled to the new world many thousands of years earlier, called “villagers”, are now commonly used for slave labor.

Cut off from the Earth, most settlers quickly lost their original allegiances. New factions formed.

Expansion 1 - resource worlds
Trying to find a way back to the Earth, the Settlers discovered that the new worlds had its own system of inter-dimensional portals leading to many other worlds and dimensions, each with their own rules and inhabitants. The portals were not stable, ever changing their destination. A traveller walking into a portal today could find themselves stranded in between the worlds. Information about pathways to specific worlds became incredibly valuable.

Expansion 2 - multiple servers
Unbeknownst to the British Empire at the time, similar portals appeared in many different locations around the Earth, each leading to its own dimension.

Here you will find a list of rules of CorsairCraft. This list is not intended to be a full and final list of every existing rule.
